I've spent the past several hour pouring over everything I can find on
templates and can't figure them out.
I've created a default template that is based on Modern Library
Association (MLA) standards.
I've created a second template that varies from that style slightly
called Comic Double Space.
I want to use both in the same document.
I have set the MLA template as default.
Now, once I have my text entered, how in blue blazes do I change to the
second template (Comic Double Space) I made?
Both templates show up when I do "new file" "template".
At first I thought it would show up under "styles and formatting".
Nope.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
thanks for your help.

Try inserting a section break when you wish to change styles. Otherwise
the style will apply to the whole document.

Where should my templates be? I started a new section, went to "style
and formatting". but only my default template shows. If I go to "load
styles" both of my templates are visible, but I can't seem to select
either of them. It seems to me that the logical place would be under
"format" in the drop down dialogue box next to the "styles and format"
icon on the toolbar.
Can we try one more time to tell me what to do? This is driving me
nuts. I should be smarter than this.
tnx

Access styles with F-11 key. Do not confuse styles with templates.
Templates have multiple styles (page, paragraph, character, maybe more).
