Try TOOLS -> OPTIONS->OPENOFFICE.ORG->WRITER->PRINT
or TOOLS -> OPTIONS->WRITER->PRINT
(Depends upon which version) and uncheck Print automatically inserted
blank pages)

Thanks. I can't seem to get that option to stay selected when I close
all OOo windows and restart (which I have to do too often because the
mail merge crashes).
