Does *anyone* know of an easy 'how-to' for transporting an Impress
presentation that has sound & video in the the presentation to another
system?

This subject has come up time and again on the list & the varied
results/answers/non-answers seem to change with each new version of OOo.

I'm not looking for a 'Pack & Go' like Powerpoint that also includes a
viewer, see:

[selfe-executing presentations]
instead, I am just looking for a simple method to have OOo fully embed
the sound/video files in the .odp so that when I use that same .odp on
another system with OOo installed it will play in the same manner as the
original.

The only way that I've managed to do this in the past is to create the
.odp using sound/video files within the same folder, then exporting the
whole lot. If the sound/video files were obtained from different folders
on the system, even including those with the .odp (or .ppt if saved as a
.ppt) doesn't work. There seems to be no way to look at and modify the
sound/video links (that I can find) from within Impress 3.1.1.

This issue becomes a *major* issue when sending an .odp to someone else;
they'll be able to play the slideshow, but of course sound & video
doesn't work even if you send them along the external sound/video
files... unless of course the presentation used files within the folder
from which it was created.
Note: I have tested with the java jmf installed on both systems, and
also tested with the Ubuntu/xiamian/go-oo/novell versions as well. So
sound and video are working across the test systems.
Have you looked at the Sun Presentation Minimizer extension? It breaks links for images and embeds the files. It also can automatically resize images and crop them to the size appearing on the slide. I have not tried using it for a presentation with sound or video.
