Regardless of the operating system, the most frequent cause of
strange, unreproducable problems lies in the user profile,
particularly when upgrading from v2.x to v3.x letting the first-start
wizard take over the old settings.
Missing and disabled features, very strange behaviour and crashes are
the most frequently reported issues which can be cured with a reset
user profile.

Thanks, Andreas, I'll try that for a while and see if stability
improves. I did run into a crash when I first tried docking the Style
and Navigator toolbars as I like them, but it only took two tries --
I'll see if they stay put now. Thanks for responding!
