Rita, if all you did was download it, just delete the downloaded file. If you double-clicked that file and went through the installatiion process, use whatever the standard method is for your operating system to remove applications. For Vista, for example, use Start > Control Panel > uninstall a program (under Programs), then delete any leftover shortcuts and files from your desktop.
What you might use/need OOo for is to replace or supplement Microsoft Office; it has programs that correspond directly with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and less directly with Access and Publisher.
