a little more information would help
What operating system are you using? windows XP, Vista, or 7, Apple or
Linux (which one)
Where did you get the copy of openoffice from? did it come on a CD/DVD
from a magazine or did you download it from www.openoffice.org?
When you get the setup file on your computer what did you do to install
it? what error messages did you get?
Then someone may be able to help you
