Hello, I am new on this list.
I have been using OO for ages now and I am very pleased with i on the whole. More than anything, with the former version, OO 2.1, which went with Etch in Linux-Debian. It was wonderful, fast, and had a lot of useful characteristics.

I upgraded Debian to Lenny (I had to, because of Flash) and it was not possible (though I tried) to keep OpenOffice 2.1. Now I have the version 2.4 and find the following irritating changes:

(1) The worst of them is that the Spanish keyboard very easily stops writing the Spanish accent (á, é) and the Spanish ñ, for no apparent reason. This can be fixed by pressing Format and then Sign, just that. I go back to the text and the accents are there again. But two minutes later I must repeat the whole procedure, because they have disappeared again. A real nuisance. WHY, or WHEN precisely they dissapear, I haven't found out yet.

(2) And then it is a pity, that the icon von "Save" does not fade anymore when a file has been already saved. That was a useful, lovely feature of OO 2.1. Is is gone now, it stays unchanged when you save the file, so you never know any more whether the file needs saving again or not.

(3) Another useful item was the fact, that when a file was saved and closed, and then reopened, OO opened the file AT THE SAME PAGE where it was closed before. Now it is opened always at the beginning, which means that I have to look up the place I left the file every time anew.

I would be very grateful for help here. There doesn't seem to be a Spanish mailing-list (I couldn't find one on the site), so I write to this one.

Raúl
