You're complaining to the wrong person. The post I replied to was
already lacking the proper attributions for all of the quotes. Of
course, recognizing that the number of quote characters doesn't match up
with the quote attributions would make it plain that you in fact didn't
author the particular quoted text I was replying to, for anyone who
cares that much...
He is complaining to the right person. You clipped the attributions in
the message you replied to, which contained the attribution for the part
you replied to. Here is the message you replied to. Compare it to your
reply.

Even though you don't need the extensions in Linux, it's still a good
idea to have them attached, just in case you forget what format they are.
