In all of the following, I'm assuming that you got the actual OpenOffice.org program by downloading from www.openoffice.org (note -- there are unfortunately other similarly-named websites that are scams or otherwise unreliable).

I have no idea how you managed to get where you are, but -- first things first. If you haven't made so many manual changes that it won't work any more, you can try doing a normal uninstall in whatever form your operating system requires. For example, in Windows systems you need to turn off the Quickstarter (if it's in your taskbar), then use the Add/Remove Programs capability. If you can't do that, your best bet is to reinstall -- partway through that, it will give you options to repair or remove OOo, and if Remove doesn't work, try Repair and then either go through installation again and use Remove, or use the OS uninstall process described above.

There is no "Open Office start.htm" on my system (Vista Home Premium, OOo 3.1.1, and I use Firefox and Thunderbird), nor is there normally any specific connection between Firefox and OOo. Maybe you created a custom home page, or somehow identified that page as your search engine? Check your Firefox installation under Tools > Options and see if there's anything there about OOo. If this doesn't give you a solution, you'll need to tell us anything you can about where that file is and how you got it.

Now, about all those "many problems" -- I can't see any other communications from you about them, but chances are that if you'd asked, we'd have been glad to help you resolve them. Care to fill us in now?
