Michael,
What you have done is magnificent.
I am now with a Portuguese/English dictionary on hands, trying to find the
right words for explaining you what I would like to get from the initial
glider image.
I would like to attenuate the colors of the glider converting it in an
aquarelle or water color image. That's what I was meaning with the word
smooth.
If possible, please let me know how did you achieve the result in
planador2.odt which is more or less similar to what I was trying to get.
Thanks & regards.

By Smooth do you mean blurred, or opaque?

Try these.
