Sorry. I use 3.2.0 as well. OK I found the magnifier thingie. Thanx. :)
But I can't really use that kind of magnification because when you make things
bigger, it just makes EVERYTHING bigger, and you can't really tell where you
are in the document! I keep the windows magnifier "docked" at the bottom of
the screen. As I type, I can see my typing in large print but I also can see
the rest of the document at normal size on the rest of the screen. And on a
document I have, that has my meds mapped out for me, day by day, if I magnify
that, it sort of scrambles everything, (a great feature if you're reading a
finished document), but no for what I'm doing in THIS document! :) The
Windows magnifier won't cover the whole screen but at least for me, it will
cover enough to let to allow navigation by only looking at the large print
area.
I was a hippie back in the 60's and I totally believe in open source but I'm
lucky enough to have a copy of MS Word on a computer I'm about to switch to so
I guess I'll just just that. I'm extremely impressed with all the stuff given
away for free online! Back in the 1960's all we had we a "free store" here and
there! Now the beautiful philosophy of helping people by giving them what they
need seems to be everywhere.
Now I see there WAS attention given to the segment of our population that is
almost always ignored but unfortionately this time it doesn't fit my particular
needs. :( I'd like to at least bring this up to some of the developers of OO.
Not as a demand but just as a suggestion.
I haven't checked as to whether STICKY-KEYS or any of the other "ACCESSIBILITY"
features in Windows, works with OO. People who need this stuff, (the
physically disabled), are almost always very poor. It they're lucky enough to
have something newer than a 386, they're sure to benefit from OO. But the
nature of the many different needs of the disabled are almost a state secret so
it's no surprise that programmers will ulsually get it wrong even when they do
try to assist!
Thanx for your reply!
