RTF is an abortion. Try saving a complex RTF from Word 97 and opening in
Word 2x or later & back and see what you end up with.
Actually, we've been doing this for some 20 years and find that almost all
versions open our files pretty consistently in most Word versions. I think
this is due to the limited set of functionality we use. For example, we
don't provide an RTF/Word format option for the attached report. As Clint
said, a man's gotta know his limitations.
