Exactly. And you will see this is one of the most voted issues. Add your

As explained in

very good reasons not to import SVG into Draw unless and until Draw and
OpenDocument get a major redesign and rewrite. So the present plan,
described in
<URL:http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=49991>, is to
allow Draw files to /embed/ SVGs, but to rely on existing SVG editors
for editing SVG files.
