More information is need. What operating system? I am guessing some version of Windows. Did you in fact install OOo or just download it? If it is installed then there should be an icon on your desktop that says "OpenOffice.org 3.2", without the quotes. Double clicking on that will start OOo. From the screen that opens select the Text Document icon and a new blank document will open for you to work on.

If you just downloaded the file there will be a file called something like "OOo_3.2.1_Win_x86_install_wJRE_en-US.exe" somewhere on your computer, the default is on the desktop.
