We have been seeing a lot of discussion about printing envelops from

good or bad the page is at this time as I have only started working on
this, but hope that it maybe of some use to others.

Thanks, Andy. FWIW, I had looked at this a few months ago, so might have some useful thoughts on it. It might be useful, but it's not very OO - which is to say, Solveig uses neither the "Insert > Envelope" command<*> (which she finds too complicated) nor the "Envelope" page style (which she does not even mention). Instead, her approach says to make a template - take as much time as you need to get it right - and then use it whenever you need an envelope. Besides the fact that it means a template for every envelope type you use, it is simply too burdensome for a modern word processor, where users (rightly, IMHO) expect such a common task to be relatively quick and easy. And, as mentioned, it ignores such imperfect tools as Writer does provide. I'm afraid it simply does not inform the current discussion very much.

[<*> Reading it recalled why I started calling that an "envelope wizard", as Solveig does - but then dropped the term "wizard" because a list member objected that it is not a wizard. It's a small point, but to the extent that this is documented, it might be nice to know whether the documentation team considers "wizard" a proper term for this tool/command.]

John
