That's exactly what I do - for the two sizes of envelope that I
use. Works fine for me.
It's also been my standard technique for over 20 years. It seems
too obvious and logical for some people. :-)
Obviously there's nothing wrong with that approach. For roughly the same
20 years I have done essentially that with WP/DOS/Unix 5.1 [probably
still my favorite app, though increasingly limited]. In some ways,
though, that approach makes more sense with an app like that, which has
its own printer control, than with apps under modern environments which
handle the printer. However, more to the point (as I said earlier),
it's simply not very OO, in that it does not use Writer's envelope
command or "Envelope" page style. In that regard it's incompatible with
the three 'official' sources of documentation on the subject, and simply
leaves us wondering what is the point of Writer's envelope provisions.
