No you didn't, and now you've wasted more of our time...

What you did was provide a response that would have been appropriate if
aimed at someone who was repeatedly asking the same question and/or
whining about a missing feature, neither of which describes the situation.

Had you prefaced your first response with that comment it would have
completely changed its tone - as it was, your response was just
condescending.

Oh - and by the way - I cannot count how many times I've seen someone
respond like you did on some other list, only to be proven wrong (ie,
that there *is* a way to do whatever it is).
