Thanks.  I'll look to see if it's open.  I searched OOoforums then
(never knew about those!) and found people with similar problems.  A bug
was filed - and closed.

Then I found out that people need to install sun's "java media
framework," but most codecs aren't supported in linux - BUT there is a
mp3 plugin.

This was all a convoluted manual installed that took about two hours to
figure out (hey, I was on a coffee low) but now it works.

I'm just wondering why this isn't working out of the box!
