Try installing 
desktop-integration/openofficeorg-suse-menus-1.9.109-1.noarch.rpm
as well. See
http://documentation.openoffice.org/setup_guide2/2.x/en/SETUP_GUIDE_draft.pdf 
for Linux installs.

Remember that 1.9 is only a beta candidate and may not be what you want.
1.1.4 is the stable release.
