It's called BDS -- Baby Duck Syndrome. Just like a baby duck, most
computer user "imprint" on the first OS they use. And can become rather
rabid about changing (that's part of a theory called Cognitive
Dissonance). Changing the "imprint" can be difficult, but it's
possible. I go back to MS-DOS and hated the thought of windows when I
first saw it; I got better. I was pushed into the Unix world for
awhile, but in reality I was thoroughly a "Windows guy" when I got a job
teaching at a high school that was a Mac [infested!] environment. I
stayed with my preference to Windows. Then a friend introduced me to
Ubuntu (I didn't start until 8.04), and I've not looked back. Still, I
get on line with an old friend from time-to-time and re-hash those early
days when we thought we were HS.
