That's a new one to me. But I do see it's yet another of those irritating inconsistencies between OOo modules. Draw/Impress do offer a choice of graphics types; Writer (and Calc) offers only pdf or [x]html. Believe it or not, just sometimes a text document does need to be rendered as an image.
