Hi all,
Is it possible to get a value instead of the underlying formula when
importing a single named-range cell from another Spreadsheet?

Try paste special and uncheck /Formula/.

You could also try pasting like normal, and the going to *Edit > Links* and the highlighting the appropriate link and clicking break link.

Hi Peter,

thanks for your reply, though none of the above suggestions will work ;(
OTOH, do you think that past special should work between two different
spreadsheets?

Yes it should and does. Usually I have to use the Link check box in order to make the formula update, otherwise I just get the value, so I am surprised it didn't work. :(

I'd suppose it worked within the same spreadsheet as it
doesn't seem to be settable as a 'general' Calc configuration ...

I found a workaround that seems to work: in the ss I'm importing from I
set a cell "=named_range" (this will show the value) and give it a new range
name (say n_r2). Then, importing n_r2 into the second ss will correctly
show the desired value!

Glad you found a solution!

Have a good one,
