After I reboot my system and try to open the tables in an existing Base file, I invariably get the message "OpenOffice.org requires a Java runtime environment (JRE) to perform this task. The selected JRE is defective...." I go to Tools - Options - OpenOffice.org - Java, and the list shows what I think is the correct version 1.6.0_23 selected. The only way I have been able to resolve this is to re-install the same version of Java, after which everything is fine until the next time I reboot.
I wonder if the JRE is actually running after a reboot. I don't see the coffee cup in my system tray, but I don't know how to start JRE or tell if it's running.
