The question remains, how can I assure that that page break is picked
up by the export-to-PDF process? The help pages are, as far as I can
find, silent on this point. I guess I can determine the answer
through experimental trial & error...

I messed up, and overlooked describing my environment; Open Office 3.2
under Ubuntu 10.04. According to their site, PDFCreator runs only under
Vista or Win7, neither of which I have, (shudder!) nor any plans to.

I'll just do some experimentation and see what results.
