That's a different morass. No thanks.

Disk crash forced a reinstall of everything. I seriously considered LO.

It appears I need to fetch the LO installation file for Windows, then I need some support files ... or do I? The release notes (which I read carefully) only make clear I should remove OO.o before installing LO, but say little else. Nothing is said about Java other than there is a glitch with Linux and a version of Java.

I don't like the OpenOffice.org download site either, but I am able to understand what needs to be done to fetch OO.o for my system, and how to leave out the out-dated version of Java that is included with the OO.o installer.

But what the heck do I do at Libreoffice's site? I'm inclined to wait for the next iteration of OO.o or further less-than-benign moves from Oracle to replace OO.o with LO.
