Your concern is definitely something to reflect in any migration road-map.

I hope we can stage the migration so that there is no loss of function until an 
alternative is available and folks can be guided to it with some advanced 
warning.  

I think there are enough folks around that can still edit the relevant static 
pages.

I think we have time to figure this out.  I don't think the plug will be pulled 
until we have a safe landing for the site, so there should be minimum 
disruption.

I recommend the Take-down of the relevant OO.o web pages that refer to 
mailing lists BEFORE these lists stop working. That is one means of 
access that Newbies to the program look for help. We should not try 
to confudle these peeps more than necessary. Alternatively these web 
pages get replaced with a redirection page that is published for a 
limited time - say six months or a year.

This request will possibly have to be discussed with Oracle as i don't 
know if the team that was doing web pages is still functioning.
