Hmm, I hate those problems when they happen to me. Fortunately, I have a hotmail address I can usually use when a destination address is too hair-triggered about sender validity. I don't know how to deal with this at Apache directly.
Do you have a gmail or hotmail account you can use to get to @*.apache.org?
