Interesting, Mike ! I always check my Gmail account directly via my browser, instead of using an email client, but when, after reading your message, I used Evolution on 64-bit Ubuntu Natty to access Gmail, I still see the information on how to unsubscribe. Obviously it is preserved in at least some email clients....
