SeaMonkey has an option for "Rich Text (HTML) Only" format which I'm
sure I
selected just now, but the copy in my sent folder was plain-text only
so I
suspect finger trouble. I've just checked it with several emails to
myself, and
all have come out as HTML only. This one definitely has HTML-only
selected, so
if it comes out as plain text again there must be something else going
on...
Looking at the message raw source, your last one is definitely,
100%-sure, html-only.
There's been no 'how to unsub' message added either (as expected).
BUT TB still offers a distinct plain text version, so there must be some
magic under the hood there. Oh, and no 'unsub' rubric with that plain
text, not surprisingly. (Maybe this explains why some list emails don't
have it - if they're html-only..... plain-text people like me would
never spot TB's presentation of html as plain text.)
I suspect when you choose to view all mail as plain text, the text/plain
part will be displayed if there is one (on the assumption that the
sender will have optimised it for plain-text display), otherwise the
HTML will be stripped out, perhaps with some intelligent spacing of
things like tables, paragraph elements, displaying URLs for links etc.
All very interesting, but not of much practical use to us mere users of
the list, except perhaps to understand why some people appear to be
incapable of reading what should be at the bottom of every email!
