Make the table and enter your data. Highlight all the cells in the
table. Click "Table" in the Menu toolbar, and then click Sort in the
Table drop down list. The Sort dialog opens. Select the column you want
to sort by and ascending to alphabetize the table. Click OK. The table
should now be alphabetized.
Help (F1 key) would have told you as much. Click the Index tab, and
then enter sorting in the Search term box. In the list below this box is
one that mentions paragraphs and tables.
