Hello,
Since I've not been able to find either this list's archives or an
answer in the OpenOffice.org FAQs, I hope someone here can help me.
Please accept my apologies in advance if this has already been
discussed.
For the archives - from http://www.openoffice.org/ click "I need help
with my OpenOffice.org", then in the "OpenOffice Community Support"
section, next to "Users Mail List" click the "Archives" link.
I'm creating an Impress presentation on OpenOffice 3.3, with the idea
of playing it on my laptop through a projector. My understanding is
that the best way to do this is to convert it to SWF. I do not see an
option to save it in that format. Can you tell me how I can do so?
Is there any reason you can't install OpenOffice.org on the laptop to
run the presentation?
The SWF export option is under File > Export... and select "Macromedia
Flash (SWF)" for "Save as type". I've never done this myself, so no idea
how well it actually works.
Also, what do I specifically need in order to play it through the projector?
Presumably the Flash Player plugin from Adobe, and an application to
host the plugin (e.g. Internet Explorer or Firefox), though again I've
never actually done it so not sure if there might be other requirements.
Thank you very much - and those of us in the U.S., have a great Thanksgiving!
