Hi, after my loong odyssey i solved my printing problems, just for the records here is what i did: what i wanted to: openoffice 2.X shall use kprinter as the default printer and ignore cups how i did it: add the line: export SAL_DISABLE_CUPS=1 to my .profile this tells OOo to ignore cups printers and to allow the user or root to configure new printers. so far so good i was able to configure kprinter as default and ooo ignored these damn cups configured printer. but unfortunately after every print i got the error message that there was a "Error while printing" which was obviously wrong because printout looked good (: so i had to define the printer as a pdf konverter, so this error disappeared. kind regards sebastian
