What Setup Guide?

There are instructions at OpenOffice.org:

http://installation.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=dev&msgNo=609

The instructions at the above link do not work because alien pukes up all
the RPMs and no .debs are created. I suspect it may be due to the fact
that the RPMs were created for i386 and my Ubuntu is amd64. Or it could
just be that the postinfo in the RPMs is incorrect, as Clemmitt Sigler said.
Anyway, alien spewed out two pages of error messages, at which point I
gave up.

Synaptic lists three 1.9 files for installation. They all fail and give error
messages about missing files.

Someone else gave me new repositories to add to Synaptic, but no matter
what I entered in the Add > Custom window, Synaptic was unable to locate
the repositories. I also tried apt-get install using the new repositories, but
couldn't get anything but error messages. I browsed to the repositories and
they seem to be there, but for some reason I cannot access them.

Still want to install the latest beta. Just need an apt-get location that works.
