FWIW the submit bug report can be done either when OOo crashes (which
is automatic) or you can create a login on the www.openoffice.org site
which then allows you to create issues/bugs... etc...

If you want to take part of the user documentation, there is another list (
[email protected]) which is committed to the user
documentation. If you send a message to them introducing yourself,
they will assist in getting you started on providing assistance to
that team... They will also assist with registering on the authors
site...etc...
