Attached are two files, Dave Legge Test.sxw and Dave Legge Test.odt.
The OOo users group software will strip them from this email,
but I am cc to your emal address and you should get the attachments
just fine. If not, let me know and I will send them directly to you
off list.

Thanks Joe.

Inserting a CALC sheet to display one cell is a Kludge.

I ought to be able to do it in a Writer field
which presents its result as text in the paragraph,
and therefore picks up all the paragraph formatting,
and flows with the paragraph etc. etc.

It looks like I can't.
The list of functions available in a writer field formula
needs extending.

Doug is right (elsewhere in this thread)
in saying that what you can do in a calc cell
you ought to be able to do in a writer field,
or a writer table cell.
(After all OOo is a true office suite not a collection of separate programs)

But even Lotus Word Pro did not manage that!

I don't use writer much but I was able to insert a date field, either
fixed or variable. I then double clicked the field and was given the
option of adding an increment to the date field. I don't know if this
is what you are after but it would increment the date by one week if you
use a value of 7.
I have a template which when opened is automatically filled with the date of the the next Sunday.
If I open it on a Monday, then 6 days is added to today's date,
If on the Saturday then only one day is added . . .

a doddle in LWP.
