Since it seems like your using windows, you can try: http://desktop.google.com/en/ You must install an openoffice plug-in, it's located here: http://desktop.google.com/plugins/indextheopenoffice.html Or: http://desktop.yahoo.com/ This one searchs openoffice files in "native" mode.
