I have OpenOffice version 109 on an NT machine. I was testing out the Microsoft Office security features on OpenOffice and I came across an issue I was hoping someone knew about. I created all test documents using Microsoft Office 97. The password protection (created in MS) preventing someone from opening a document works fine in OpenOffice, however, I noticed that if you save your document in Microsoft and set a password to prevent people from editing your document, when you open the same document in OpenOffice Writer you are not prompted for a password and are allowed to go ahead and edit the document and resave? Also, if you do save the document with OpenOffice, the password protection no longer works for microsoft either. Can anyone duplicate these results, I just made a simple document with two words in it to test this out. This is a serious problem if we push this forward in my company as people will be able to use OpenOffice to go into a read-only document and edit it. Any suggestions, is this a known bug? Thank you,
