For both questions, the answer is yes.
You ask how. Well, do you really want to use VB, or do you just want to
use Basic Macros inside of OpenOffice.org? The how answer is different
depending on which it is.
If you really want to use VBA, then start here:
http://documentation.openoffice.org/
Look in the "HowTo" section and search for VB. I think that the examples
may demonstrate how to do this there....
