Andrew Thank you very much for coming to the rescue. I had in fact copied the code snippet from an older version of your macro document. On downloading the latest version the code there (which is the same as you have told me about now) worked perfectly So thank you THREE times 1. for posting the code for me on this list a year or so ago 2. for helping me out again 3. for your free macro doc And thanks as well to CPHennesy for forwarding the mail for me and alerting me to the fact that I was not subscribed.
