this sounds pretty good -- I guess I don't know where to find the "Numbering styles" or how to manipulate them -- is it something I can link to actual text styles, as one does with chapter/outlining? That would be the best solution for me. Sorry if I'm being a bit thick, my version of 1.9 (popwerpc, debian) came without the help files(!) so I can't access them at the moment.
