What OOo had done is to use that recursive line to create a bottom
border. One was to stop this from happening is to make your recursive
line and add a space before hitting <Enter>.
To remove this bottom border, move the mouse cursor to the line
just above the border. Format > Paragraph >Border (tab). Under Line
Style, click None. Then click OK.
