Hi Ken, I'm only guessing, but you might be running into the problem as described here: http://supportforum.sun.com/staroffice/index.php?t=msg&th=1196&start=0&rid=2069 This is about StarOffice 7, but for all purposes that's OpenOffice 1.1. There is a workaround provided, but as far as I can tell, the problem does no longer exist in OpenOffice.org 2, so you might be better off using the latest (already pretty stable) beta version, currently that's 1.9.122.
