FWIW, I don't understand your question. There isn't enough information

XP - Home or Pro?

XP Pro

Do you use user accounts? Do you use passwords?

Yes, every student has an account and logs onto a domain.

What do you mean that the computer is "reset" with "reboot"?

The computers have the Centurion Guard. That way, if any changes are made to the computer, software loaded, a virus gets on it, etc., when the computer reboots, it is back to the way that it was when it was new.

Are you using some computer management program we should know about?
Why don't you add the program for all users? If there is some central
image, add it to the image...

I ghost all machines with OpenOffice on it. When installing, there is no option to make it install for all users. That is why I was copying the profile of the user that set it up to the 'default user'. That way, whoever logs in should pick it up, and they do, but for some reason the files created by OO, are not associated. I have to go to add/remove programs and run a quick repair for each user that logs in.

Most of my machines have been Windows 98, but more and more are becoming
XP. From reading the setup, it looks like I have to do a network
install, and then, every user that logs onto the computer will have to
install OpenOffice 1.1.4. Is this correct?

I had installed it with my 'setup' user and then copied that profile to
the default user. This seems to work, except for new users actually
have to open up OpenOffice and then open the file. They cannot just
double click a file, because it does not have anything associated with it.

Is there anyway to get past having every user to run the install? This
could cause me a lot of problems, since my lab computers have some
hardware that resets the computer everytime it reboots. This would mean
that each user would have to run the setup program everyday that they
log in.

Does the new version also work this way?

Have a look at http://installation.openoffice.org - especially for a
"response" file which can be used during install to make it invisible (i.e.
have the user give no input during install ).

A OOo specific response file guide is available from
http://documentation.openoffice.org/ in the HOW-TOs rather than
depending on the old StarOffice5.2 doc on installation.

I will take a look at these. Thanks for the replies.
