Not sure what is causing this, howvever is there not an option to
specify which pages to print, you could try that,
perhaps print to a pdf file to save paper, but printing pages 1 then
print page 2 should do it

what version of openoffice do you have?

Paul

I'm using OpenOffice 2, version 1.9.122
I can keep from printing all the pages by simply remembering
each time to change the print range from all to 1.
But I'd still like to know what I'm doing that is causing all these
extra pages, and how to get rid the the extra hundred or so
empty pages. Thanks very much.
Helen, using SuSE 9.3

What about opening the document(s) and physically deleting
all the extra pages? I think the OP said they are being
imported from MSOffice, so these pages are probably being
introduced by the import function and may have something to
do with features in the original documents.
