Hi Brennan,
I have to guess - because you didn't say what OS you're using - that you
need to adjust permissions for the backup directory.
As you purchased a product that is able to be downloaded for no charge
from the OpenOffice.org website, it is also possible that the version
you have has been customized and some other problem was introduced by
the seller.
