I am running 1.9.79.2.3 (not the most current as a download takes 8 hours).
When I right clicked on the text (yes-plain text) I got paste, font style, etc. 
I was able to select a work and change the point size.  But cut and copy ere 
not in the menu, and the delete key did not work.
