Perhaps you are confusing "downloading" the file with "installing" the file. These are two very distinct and separate processes.

If this is the case, let us know so that better instructions can be provided.

Is it possible that there is an OpenOffice.org icon in the system tray (
the
lower right of your screen) ? It is shades of blue with a small gull shape
on
it.
