When upgrading, as long as you install the new version into a new
directory, there should be no problems. You can run two versions of
OOo along side each other quite happily.

When you get around to uninstalling the old version, you can uninstall
then delete the old directory. There is an uninstaller built into the
product - so that should be simple.
