OpenOffice is free to use as per its licencing. You can download version 
2 here
http://download.openoffice.org/2.0.0rc/index.html

Stay in touch with this Forum as Openoffice is a much more powerful 
program than Wordpad and the folks here will give you all the guidance 
you need for basic usage- usually on turn around.
