     It is a compressed file. The first step is to extract the files to 
a folder which means you have to unzip it. XP versions will do this, 
but Win 98SE and ME will not. Win 2000 probably will not either. In 
this case, download a zip program (7-zip.exe has been recommended many 
times on this list as it is free, www.7-zip.com).
     Extract the files. Use Window's Explorer to open the folder which 
contains the extracted files. Look for this file: setup_guide.pdf. Read 
it before doing anything else. (You must have Acrobat Reader on you 
computer to read this file. If you don't have Acrobat Reader, download 
it. (www.adobe.com).
     Once you have read the Setup Guide (setup_guide.pdf), follow its 
instructions for installing OpenOffice.org.
